Patna, May 11: The inaugural Kilkari Ball Badminton Premier League, organized by Kilkari Bihar Bal Bhawan, Patna, commenced on Saturday at the Ball Badminton Court within the Kilkari premises. In the league’s opening match, the formidable Kilkari Warriors, featuring national-level players, clinched victory over the Kilkari Panthers in two straight sets, with scores of 35-29 and 35-27. Following this, the Kilkari Lions secured a win against the Kilkari Giants with scores of 35-25 and 35-28 in the subsequent match.

The three-day Ball Badminton Premier League was officially inaugurated by Gouri Shankar, Secretary of the Bihar Ball Badminton Association, after being introduced to the participating players. Ved Prakash, the Kilkari coordinator, extended a warm welcome to the guests, while coach Rahul Kumar delivered the vote of thanks. Among the esteemed guests were Mitali Mitra, Joint Secretary of the Bihar Ball Badminton Association; Dr. Arun Dayal, Secretary of the Patna District Ball Badminton Association; as well as senior national players Prabhat Rana and Saurabh Suman, alongside numerous sports enthusiasts.

Tomorrow, the league will feature boys’ doubles and mixed doubles matches starting from 6:30 am, followed by the fives competition at 3:00 pm.
