Patna: KC Tyagi has resigned from his position as the JD(U) national spokesperson, according to an official letter issued by the party. JD(U) national president Nitish Kumar has appointed Rajiv Ranjan Prasad as the new national spokesperson, replacing KC Tyagi. The resignation was attributed to personal reasons, as stated by the party.
In a press release issued by JD(U) General Secretary and Bihar Legislative Council member Afaque Ahmed Khan, it was confirmed that Nitish Kumar has appointed Rajiv Ranjan Prasad to the role of national spokesperson. The press release reiterated that KC Tyagi stepped down from his position due to personal reasons.
KC Tyagi, a veteran leader of JD(U) and a close associate of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, has been a prominent figure in the party. He has garnered significant attention in recent times for his statements, some of which diverged from the NDA’s stance. For instance, he recently advocated against the supply of arms to Israel. His remarks on various issues, including reservations, have kept him in the headlines.
Rajiv Ranjan Prasad, currently the national secretary of JD(U), is known for expressing the party’s views freely and effectively on various issues. With this new appointment, Nitish Kumar has entrusted him with the significant responsibility of being the national spokesperson.
Recently, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has assigned multiple responsibilities to senior party leaders, including appointing Rajiv Ranjan Prasad as the in-charge of Assam. Now, with the added role of national spokesperson, Prasad is expected to continue presenting the party’s views strongly across various media platforms.
