Patna: Jyoti Singh, wife of renowned Bhojpuri film star Pawan Singh, has been making frequent appearances in the Karakat Assembly constituency recently. During her visits, she has openly praised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, fuelling speculation about her political ambitions.
Jyoti Singh commended Nitish Kumar, stating, “What Nitish Kumar has done for Bihar is unparalleled. It is thanks to his leadership that I can meet people even late at night without any fear. The atmosphere across the state is safe, and Nitish Kumar deserves appreciation for this.”
She further highlighted the empowerment of women in Bihar under Nitish Kumar’s tenure, saying, “Today, women have gained confidence and empowerment in every sphere, including politics. Women feel safe stepping out even late at night, completing their work, and returning home without worry.”
Jyoti Singh has also announced her intention to contest the upcoming Assembly elections. However, she has yet to reveal the party under whose banner she will stand. This has led to speculation about whether she might contest the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 on an NDA ticket. Over the past week, she has been actively visiting the Karakat and Dehri Assembly constituencies, engaging with the public.
It is worth noting that earlier this year, Pawan Singh contested the Lok Sabha elections but faced defeat. His performance is believed to have impacted the NDA’s prospects in the Shahabad region. Against this backdrop, Jyoti Singh’s recent praise for Nitish Kumar has raised questions about whether she is signalling a potential political shift or opening new alliances.
