Patna: The counting process for the Tirhut Graduate Constituency by-election concluded with independent candidate Vanshidhar Brajwasi emerging victorious. He triumphed over several seasoned politicians and party candidates, securing a decisive win.
Vanshidhar Brajwasi received 27,744 votes, defeating his closest rival, Dr Vinayak Gautam of Jan Suraaj, by a margin of 10,915 votes. The outcome brought some encouragement to Prashant Kishor, as his backed candidate, Gautam, finished in second place. Meanwhile, the Mahagathbandhan candidate Gopi Kishan secured the third position, and Abhishek Jha, contesting to uphold the legacy of Devesh Chandra Thakur, came in fourth.
Following the completion of the counting process, Brajwasi was handed the certificate of victory. His triumph has ignited enthusiasm among his supporters, with Brajwasi attributing the win to the unwavering support of the common people.
Expressing gratitude, Vanshidhar Brajwasi stated, “This is the victory of the common people. They have supported us. I will not join any party. There is still a lot of fight left.” He reiterated his commitment to serving the public as an independent representative, pledging to continue his efforts to address the needs of the people without aligning with any political party.
