Patna: Cricket Academy of Patna stormed into the final of the Baidyanath Prasad Memorial Under-13 Cricket Tournament with a resounding 77-run victory over SPS CCC in the second semi-final. They will face Basawan Park Cricket Academy in the final showdown.
The semi-final match, played at the Cricket Academy of Bihar ground, saw Cricket Academy of Patna opting to bat first after winning the toss. They set a formidable target of 181 runs for nine wickets in their allotted 22 overs. The innings was powered by Avinash Kumar’s brilliant 56-run contribution, supported by Sagar Kumar’s 28 runs and Priyan Singh’s 24.
In reply, SPS CCC faltered under pressure and were bowled out for just 104 runs in 18.3 overs. Despite Sahil’s valiant 33 runs, the team could not overcome the disciplined bowling from Cricket Academy of Patna, with Mohammad Kaif and Sagar Kumar both claiming three wickets each. Avinash Kumar, with his all-round performance, was named Player of the Match.
Shishir Kumar, the son of the late Baidyanath Prasad and the tournament’s organising president, announced that the final will be held at the Moinul Haque Stadium on its turf wicket. The closing ceremony will feature the presence of notable dignitaries.
