Patna: The Bihar women’s team produced another composed all-round performance to lift the Senior Women’s One Day Trophy Plate, organised by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, defeating Sikkim by seven wickets in the final at the Barabati Stadium on Sunday.
With this victory, Bihar completed the tournament unbeaten, underlining their consistency, balance and tactical discipline throughout the competition.
Batting first, Sikkim were bowled out for 135 in 46.5 overs. Samayita top-scored with 28, while Parimala added 20 and Tabita Subba remained unbeaten on 21. Bihar’s bowlers operated with collective control, led by Khushboo C. Kumari, who returned impressive figures of 5 for 33 from 8.5 overs. Rachna Singh and Apurva Kumari provided crucial support in the middle overs, picking up two wickets apiece to keep the scoring in check.
In reply, Bihar approached the chase with patience and authority. A decisive 92-run partnership between captain Pragati Singh and Vaidehi Yadav set the foundation for victory. Vaidehi remained unbeaten on 54 to anchor the innings, while Pragati contributed a fluent 45. Bihar reached the target comfortably, scoring 139 for 3 in 35 overs.
The triumph capped a flawless campaign for Bihar, who did not lose a single match in the tournament — a reflection of sustained effort, sound planning and strong coordination across departments.

The Bihar Cricket Association congratulated the players and support staff on the achievement and extended best wishes for future competitions. Association president Harsh Vardhan said the title was the result of discipline, perseverance and teamwork, adding that remaining unbeaten throughout the tournament highlighted the team’s preparation and mental strength. Secretary Ziaul Arfeen also praised the dedication of the players and staff, reaffirming the association’s commitment to providing resources and opportunities to further strengthen women’s cricket in the state.
