Top 10 finishers at Bihar State Under-7 Boys’ and Girls’ Chess Championship.

Patna: The Bihar State Under-7 Boys’ and Girls’ Chess Championship, held at Pleasant Valley School in Sandalpur from 28 April, concluded on a high note. In the boys’ category, Saharsa’s Rudra Pratap clinched the title with 5.5 points, while in the girls’ category, Bhojpur’s Aavya Srivastava emerged champion with 5 points.
Rudra secured the title after drawing his final-round match with Patna’s Bhavyansh Anantjeet, playing with the white pieces. With multiple players tied on 5 points, final standings were decided on tie-break scores. Krishna of Lakhisarai finished as runner-up, followed by Aarav Singh of Purnia in third place and Anvesh Kumar Arya of Bhagalpur in fourth.
In the girls’ section, Aavya sealed her victory by defeating Muzaffarpur’s Samaira with the black pieces. Entering the final round with a half-point lead, she remained unbeaten to claim the title. Patna’s Anvi Saraf and Kishanganj’s Amaira Rahman secured second and third positions respectively, both with 4 points.
The prize distribution ceremony was attended by Pleasant Valley School Chairman Lallan Kumar Singh, All Bihar Chess Association Secretary Dharmendra Kumar, School Principal Chandrashekhar Azad, and Patna District Chess Association Secretary Vipul Subhashi. Winners were felicitated with trophies, medals, and certificates.
Joint Secretary of the All Bihar Chess Association Shivpriya Bhardwaj, along with Shashinand Kumar, Manish Kumar, Alok Priyadarshi, Rahul Kumar, Himanshu Harsh, Ashish Raj, and others were also present on the occasion.
