Patna: Bihar is set to face severe cold weather this week, with a rain alert issued for Tuesday amidst dense fog. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather has taken a sharp turn due to a western disturbance and a cyclonic circulation, bringing cold conditions and the possibility of rain across the state.

The cold is intensifying due to strong westerly winds, which are expected to continue until 11 December. Temperatures in several districts are forecast to range from 12 to 16 degrees Celsius. On Monday, Dehri in Rohtas district recorded the lowest temperature at 7.5 degrees Celsius. The Meteorological Department has warned of rain in 12 districts, which may further drop temperatures.

The change in weather is attributed to a cyclonic circulation and strong jet stream winds. More weather fluctuations are anticipated in the coming days.
