Bihar State Under 9 Chess Championship Kicks Off with Fierce Competition: 11 Boys and 5 Girls Lead After Day 1

Patna: The Bihar State Under 9 Chess Championship, organized by Khelo Chess Academy under the aegis of the All Bihar Chess Association, commenced today at Aqua Water Park, Saguna Mor, Danapur Road. After the completion of the second round, 11 players, including all FIDE-rated participants, are jointly leading with two points in the boys’ category. In the girls’ category, 5 players, including top-seeded FIDE-rated player Ankita Raj, are also tied with two points.

The championship sees a strong turnout with 51 players competing in the boys’ category and 20 in the girls’ category.

The tournament was inaugurated this morning by Dharmendra Kumar, Secretary of the All Bihar Chess Association, and Ganga Prasad, the Chief Patron of the tournament and Joint Commissioner of GST, Danapur region. The event also saw the presence of key figures such as Jayprakash Sinha, Vice President of All Bihar Chess Association, Treasurer Manish Kumar, Joint Secretary Nandkishore, Shivpriya Bhardwaj, Himanshu Kumar, Organizing Secretary Neha Singh, Tournament Director Ashish Raj, senior chess players Sudhir Kumar Sinha, Minhajul Hoda, Vijay Kumar, along with players and their parents from across the state.
