New Delhi: Bihar’s Industry Minister, Nitish Mishra, inaugurated the “Invest Bihar” pavilion as part of the state’s participation in the third edition of the mega event, World Food India 2024, held at Pragati Maidan, Delhi. The event, taking place from 19th to 22nd September 2024, was launched in Hangar No. 1, where the pavilion is located. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Ravi Prakash, Director of the Department of Industries, Government of Bihar, along with other dignitaries.
In his inaugural address, Minister Nitish Mishra highlighted the objective of the ‘Invest Bihar’ initiative, which aims to attract global partners and investors to Bihar, positioning it as the premier state for investment. He underscored Bihar’s immense potential in food processing and emphasised the government’s commitment to bringing this potential to every village and household in the state.
On the opening day of World Food India 2024, the “Invest Bihar” pavilion successfully showcased the state’s food processing opportunities, drawing interest from numerous investors and visitors. Many investors engaged in detailed discussions with officials from the Department of Industries, exploring specific investment prospects.
The “Invest Bihar” pavilion features five stalls, each presenting unique and specialised offerings throughout the exhibition. Visitors were introduced to a range of products, including Bihar’s ancient Harappan-era Sonamati wheat and the internationally renowned Katarni rice. Additionally, a startup showcasing flavoured sattu became a crowd favourite. Other notable attractions included Bihar’s famous makhana (fox nuts) and Samikha cold-pressed mustard oil, which also garnered significant attention. Startups from Bihar displayed some of the finest and most unique products the state has to offer.
