Bihar Secure First-Innings Lead in Drawn Match Against Rajasthan

Patna: The four-day Cooch Behar Trophy Under-19 Men’s Cricket match between Bihar and Rajasthan ended in a draw at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium. Bihar earned three points by virtue of their first-innings lead, while Rajasthan settled for one point.

Bihar made a strong start, scoring a formidable 467 runs in their first innings, thanks to stellar contributions from Deepesh Gupta (183 not out) and Prithvi Raj (128). In reply, Rajasthan struggled and were bowled out for just 182, with Bihar’s Suman Kumar achieving a rare feat by taking all ten wickets in the innings, setting a new record.

Following on, Rajasthan staged a remarkable fightback in their second innings, reaching 410 for 5 in 137.5 overs before the match was called off after tea on the final day. Parth Yadav was the hero for Rajasthan, playing an unbeaten innings of 200 runs, his second double century of the season. Captain Toshit provided crucial support with 126 runs, sharing a 253-run partnership with Parth.

Bihar’s bowlers worked hard in the second innings, with Aditya Raj taking 3 for 145, while Suman Kumar and Agastya claimed one wicket each. Suman’s match haul was an impressive 11 wickets.

For Rajasthan, Aabhas Shrimali took five wickets in the first innings. Parth’s marathon innings spanned 441 balls and featured 28 fours and one six, showcasing his resilience and skill.

Bihar’s next match is scheduled against Maharashtra in Aurangabad from 6 December, while Rajasthan will face Assam in Jaipur.
