Patna: Bihar took complete control of the Ranji Trophy Plate Final at the Moinul Haq Stadium on the fourth day, piling up a formidable total in their second innings to put Manipur firmly on the back foot.
At stumps on Day Four, Bihar had reached 505 for 5 in their second innings, extending their overall lead to a commanding 763 runs.
The highlight of the innings was a magnificent unbeaten double century by Piyush Kumar Singh, who displayed patience and composure throughout his knock. He remained not out on 216, scoring at a steady pace while striking 20 boundaries from 316 deliveries to steer Bihar into a dominant position.

He received valuable support from Khalid, who contributed a solid 81, while Raghuvendra Pratap remained unbeaten on 90. Wicketkeeper-batter Bipin Saurabh added a fluent 52, ensuring consistent run flow through the middle order.
Earlier, Manipur were dismissed for 264 in their first innings, in response to Bihar’s imposing 522. The Bihar batters showed discipline and consistency across both innings, building a decisive advantage in the title clash.
With one day left in the match, the contest appears firmly tilted in Bihar’s favour. On the final day, the hosts will look to press home their advantage and seal victory on home soil, bringing their campaign to a strong and memorable conclusion.
