Patna: Bihar Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar conducted a four-hour review meeting on crime control at the Patna IG office on Friday. The meeting focused on updates from officials regarding law and order, as well as incidents ranging from minor to major. DGP Kumar also shared strategic tips with the officials to strengthen law and order measures.
The meeting was attended by IG Garima Malik, Patna SSP Avkash Kumar, and all SP-rank officers.
Addressing the media after the meeting, DGP Kumar spoke about police encounters. He stated that active policing naturally increases the likelihood of confrontations with criminals. He added, “If criminals attack the police, there will be crossfire. Criminal activities will not be tolerated, and the response to such actions will be equally strong.”
During the meeting, the DGP stressed the importance of improving police patrolling, both during the day and at night. He highlighted the need for faster investigations, crime prevention through the use of advanced technology, and closely monitoring the activities of criminals released from prison.
Since assuming office, DGP Vinay Kumar has introduced several stringent measures to combat crime in Bihar. These efforts have yielded results, with recent incidents including:
- The killing of three criminals in an encounter in Patna.
- The elimination of a wanted criminal in Purnia.
- An encounter in Gaya on Friday morning, where police shot a criminal in the leg.
These developments reflect the intensified efforts of Bihar Police under DGP Kumar’s leadership to ensure public safety and maintain law and order.
