Patna: After returning from his Delhi tour, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday made a courtesy visit to outgoing Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and newly appointed Governor Arif Mohammad Khan at Raj Bhavan. The new Governor of Bihar arrived in Patna on Monday but was unable to meet the Chief Minister as he was in Delhi at the time.
New Governor to Take Oath on 2nd January
Arif Mohammad Khan, the newly appointed Governor of Bihar, is scheduled to take the oath of office on 2nd January 2025. The appointment of a new Governor in an election year has sparked significant political discussions in the state.
Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar, the outgoing Governor and the 41st to hold the position in Bihar, took office on 17th February 2023. He served for over 22 months and will now assume the role of Governor of Kerala.
CM Bids Farewell to Rajendra Arlekar
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar also attended the farewell ceremony organised at the State Hangar of Jayaprakash Narayan International Airport to bid farewell to Governor Arlekar. The CM expressed his warm wishes and presented a bouquet to mark the occasion. He extended his congratulations to Arlekar for his new responsibilities.
