Patna: Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary felicitated Bihar’s promising athlete Piyush Raj at the Lok Sevak Residence on Wednesday, presenting him with a cheque of ₹9 lakh in recognition of his achievement at the 22nd Junior Asian Athletics Championship.
During the ceremony, the Chief Minister praised the young sportsperson and encouraged him to continue striving for excellence. He also announced that Piyush Raj would soon be offered a position in government service under the Bihar Government.
Highlighting the significance of the achievement, the Chief Minister said that Piyush Raj’s success serves as an inspiration for the youth of the state. He extended his heartfelt wishes for the athlete’s bright future. Bihar sports minister Shreyasi Singh was also present on the occasion.
It is noteworthy that Piyush Raj recently won a bronze medal in the 4×400 metre relay event held in China, becoming the first athlete from Bihar to achieve this feat.
