Patna: Basawan Park Cricket Academy clinched the title in the Baidyanath Prasad Memorial Under-13 Cricket Tournament with a thrilling four-run victory over Cricket Academy of Patna in the final match held at the Moinul Haque Stadium.
After winning the toss, Basawan Park Cricket Academy elected to bat first and posted an impressive total of 172 runs for the loss of four wickets in 25 overs. The innings was anchored by an unbeaten 44-run knock from Ankit Saurabh, complemented by contributions from Yuvraj (37) and Priyanshu Kumar (33).
In response, Cricket Academy of Patna came close to the target but was bowled out for 168 runs in 22.3 overs. Despite outstanding performances by Avinash Kumar (74 runs) and Ayushman Singh (49 runs), the team fell short. Basawan Park’s Ankit Saurabh starred with the ball as well, taking three crucial wickets for just 5 runs, earning him the Player of the Match award.
The awards ceremony was graced by notable dignitaries, including former Governor Ganga Prasad, Patna Mayor Sita Sahu, and Deputy Mayor Reshmi Chandravanshi, who presented the prizes.
