Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit inaugurating All India Civil Services Athletic Championship in Patna.

Patna: The All India Civil Services Athletics Championship 2025–26 was formally inaugurated on Saturday at the Patliputra Sports Complex here amid a grand and enthusiastic atmosphere. Teams from 31 states and the Central Secretariat are participating in the prestigious national event.
The championship was inaugurated by Bihar Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, who extended a warm welcome to the athletes and officials. In his address, Mr Amrit highlighted Bihar’s emergence as a sporting destination and cited the successful hosting of major events such as the Khelo India Youth Games, the Hero Men’s Hockey Tournament, the Women’s Asian Champions Trophy and the Asian Under-20 Rugby Championship.

He said Bihar is known for its rich culture and warm hospitality towards sportspersons, and expressed confidence that the championship would not only promote sporting talent but also strengthen mutual camaraderie and cooperation among civil servants from across the country.
During the opening ceremony, all 31 teams took part in a disciplined march past, symbolising sportsmanship and unity. This was followed by the hoisting of the flags of the Bihar Secretariat Sports Foundation and the All India Civil Services, marking the formal commencement of the competition.
Senior state government officials, including Deepak Singh, Dr B. Rajendra, Mahendra Kumar and Shirshat Kapil Ashok, were present on the occasion.
