Patna, May 24: Jyoti CC and Uma XI emerged victorious in their respective matches on Friday in the Patna Women’s Cricket League, organized by the Patna District Cricket Association (PDCA) Steering Committee. This marks Uma XI’s second consecutive win.
In the first match held at the Bihar Cricket Academy Ground, located at the premises of La Martiniere World School in Sampatchak, Jyoti CC defeated CMS Cricket Club by 9 wickets, while Uma XI triumphed over Renu XI by a massive 177 runs. Jyoti CC’s Santoshi (24 runs, 2 wickets) and Uma XI’s Soumya Akhouri (5 wickets) were named Players of the Match.
CMS vs. Jyoti CC
Jyoti CC won the toss and chose to bowl first. CMS Cricket Club managed to score 49 runs for 9 wickets in 21.2 overs. In response, Jyoti CC chased down the target, scoring 53 runs for 1 wicket in just 7.2 overs. Santoshi was awarded the Player of the Match by BCCI panel scorer Nitesh Nishant.

Uma XI vs. Renu XI
Uma XI won the toss and elected to bat first. Geetanjali (77 not out off 73 balls, 11 fours) and Swarnima Chakraborty (50 runs off 30 balls, 9 fours) led the team to a total of 209 runs for 5 wickets in 25 overs. Swarnima Chakraborty recorded the first half-century of the league.
In reply, Renu XI was bowled out for just 32 runs in 15.1 overs, thanks to excellent bowling by Soumya Akhouri (5 wickets), Dolly (3 wickets), and Sangeeta (2 wickets). No batsman from Renu XI reached double digits, with extras contributing 18 runs. Soumya Akhouri was named Player of the Match by Ranjan Sinha. Bihar Cricket Academy coach Ashutosh Kumar awarded Araadhya of Renu XI a cash prize for taking a great catch.
