Bihar Police Constable Recruitment: Physical Efficiency Test Dates Announced

Patna: The Additional Director General of Police and Chairman of the Central Selection Board, Jitendra Kumar, has announced the schedule for the Physical Efficiency Test (PET) for Bihar Police Constable Recruitment. The tests will take place from 9 December 2024 to 10 March 2025.

Admit cards for the PET are being downloaded from 12:00 pm on Thursday, via the Central Selection Board’s official website: https://csbc.bihar.gov.in.

The PET will be conducted daily from 7:00 am at Shaheed Rajendra Prasad Singh Government High School, Gardanibagh, Patna. On the day of the examination, candidates will also undergo document verification, which will take place simultaneously with no separate timing allotted.

A total of 107,079 candidates have qualified for the PET, including 67,518 males, 39,550 females, and 11 transgender candidates. The examinations for male and female candidates will be conducted on different days, starting with the male candidates, followed by the female candidates. Daily, 1,600 male candidates and 1,400 female candidates will be assessed.

The PET includes tests for running, shot put, and high jump. Additionally, male candidates will undergo height and chest measurements, while female candidates will have their height and weight measured. A computerised chip and sensor system will track performance during the events, ensuring accurate time and distance assessments.

The recruitment process began with the advertisement published in June 2023, attracting 1,787,720 applications for 21,391 constable posts. A written examination held in six phases in August 2024 saw 1,195,101 candidates appear, of whom 107,079 have advanced to the physical test stage.

This phase is a crucial step in the recruitment process, aiming to ensure transparency and fairness while selecting the best candidates for the force.
