Patna: After an eight-month wait, Bihar’s Leader of the Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav, is set to relocate to his new official residence. On the auspicious occasion of Vijayadashami, 12 October, Yadav will move to 1 Polo Road, the residence officially allotted to the Leader of the Opposition.

The house Tejashwi Yadav previously occupied will now become the new residence of Bihar’s Deputy Chief Minister, Samrat Chaudhary. Chaudhary will move into his new government residence at 5 Deshratna Marg on the same day. Until now, Tejashwi Yadav had been living at this address, but the Building Construction Department had already issued him a notice to vacate the property.

The 1 Polo Road residence, to which Yadav will now move, was formerly occupied by Vijay Kumar Sinha when he held the position of Leader of the Opposition in the Assembly. After the political shift in power on 28 January, Sinha, who became the Deputy Chief Minister, vacated the property.

Currently residing at 12 Strand Road, Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary will take up residence at 5 Deshratna Marg, which was originally prepared for Tejashwi Yadav during the first Mahagathbandhan government. At that time, a significant sum of money was spent on decorating the building, and it became a topic of public discussion. Following a political reshuffle, when Sushil Kumar Modi became the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, the house was officially allocated to him.
