Purnia, Buxar, Patna, and Siwan Advance to Semi-Finals in Hockey Bihar Junior Girls State Championship

Patna: The 14th Hockey Bihar Junior Girls State Championship 2024, hosted by Hockey Saharsa at MLT College, Saharsa, saw four exciting quarterfinal matches today, with Purnia, Buxar, Patna, and Siwan securing their spots in the semi-finals.

In the opening match, Purnia dominated Khagaria with a 5-0 victory. Raghni Kumari was the star of the game, netting goals in the 22nd, 27th, and 42nd minutes. Rajina Marandi added a goal in the 34th minute, and Fancy Khatoon capped off the win with a final goal in the 57th minute.

The second quarterfinal featured a tightly contested battle between Buxar and Arwal. Buxar emerged victorious with a narrow 1-0 win, courtesy of a crucial goal by Sneha Raj.

Patna showcased their strength in the third quarterfinal, defeating Bhojpur 4-0. Khushi Kumari scored the first goal in the 13th minute, followed by Rishu Kumari’s penalty corner goal in the 38th minute. Ratan Priya and Akanksha Kumari sealed the win with goals in the 41st and 52nd minutes.

In the final quarterfinal, Siwan overwhelmed hosts Saharsa with a commanding 5-0 victory. Shruti Kumari opened the scoring in just the 2nd minute, with Palak Kumari adding another in the 8th minute. Nazia Khatoon scored twice, in the 23rd and 52nd minutes, while Khushi Kumari also netted a goal in the 38th minute.

The semi-final line-up is set for tomorrow, with Buxar facing Purnia and Patna taking on Siwan.
