Patna: Bihar BJP’s newly appointed president, Dilip Jaiswal, has swiftly taken charge and is actively engaging in party activities. As the party seeks to address the challenges posed by the opposition in the upcoming 2025 Assembly elections, it is also focusing on strengthening its grassroots organisation. To this end, the BJP has officially launched a membership campaign.
The campaign was inaugurated at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee auditorium in the BJP state office in Patna. During the event, many senior leaders of the party renewed their memberships, including Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary. In addition to state officials, a large number of workers also joined the BJP. Party leaders at the event urged workers to encourage as many people as possible in Bihar to become members of the party.
Speaking on the occasion, former state president and Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary highlighted the democratic nature of the BJP, contrasting it with other parties where dynastic politics prevail. He emphasised that within the BJP, even a Mandal-level worker can rise to the position of party president.
“Before me, Sanjay Jaiswal and Mangal Pandey served as presidents. I followed as state president, and now Dilip Jaiswal has taken the role. This is in stark contrast to other parties where the same individual has held the presidency for 27 years. Additionally, the membership fee, which was previously required, has now been abolished, making it easier for people to join the party,” Chaudhary stated.
Bihar BJP president Dilip Jaiswal, Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha, and Health Minister Mangal Pandey were also present at the membership campaign launch. The Bihar BJP has set an ambitious target of enrolling over one crore new members in the state ahead of the 2025 Assembly elections. Currently, the BJP boasts 80 lakh members in Bihar.
