Patna: The land survey work in Patna district is set to commence on Tuesday, August 20. On this day, Gram Sabhas will be organised in 1,369 revenue villages to inform residents about the survey process. During these meetings, villagers will be briefed on the necessary documents required for the land survey. The survey will be conducted across 23 zones in the district, which includes 1,369 revenue villages, including municipal areas. The target is to complete the land survey by June next year.

To carry out the survey, 396 contract employees have been appointed, including Special Survey Amin, Special Survey Assistant Settlement Officers, Special Survey Kanungos, and Special Survey Clerks. According to sources, the training for these employees has been completed.

Settlement Officer Seema Sanghani stated that for the special survey, landholders must submit documents related to their land ownership along with photocopies of the account number, khesra number, Aadhaar card, and genealogy, all attached to Form-2. The documents should be submitted at the Panchayat Government Building between 9 am to 5 pm on all working days, with a receipt provided upon submission. Only after this process will the Special Survey Amin visit the land for the physical survey.

Throughout Bihar, meetings between surveyors and farmers are being organised to facilitate the survey process. Special Survey Kanungo Nishant emphasised that the survey will cover all revenue villages and that landholders must submit ownership documents to validate their claims. Landowners are advised to ensure their boundaries are correctly marked, submit the relevant ownership documents, fill in their genealogy details in Form 3(1), assist the surveyor during the verification process, and participate in the boundary verification. They should also carefully review Form-7 and LPM, raise objections if dissatisfied, and present their case calmly during hearings at the camp.

The special land survey is a crucial step towards reducing land disputes, and the cooperation of all stakeholders is essential. This survey aims to update land records accurately and minimise future conflicts. All landowners are urged to fully cooperate in this survey. Each camp is staffed with a Special Survey Settlement Officer, two Kanungos, a clerk, and a Special Survey Amin. Landowners are required to complete Form-2 with the necessary land details and submit it at the camp office.

This comprehensive survey is expected to play a pivotal role in modernising land records and preventing disputes, benefiting all landholders in the long term.
