Patna: Visitors to police stations in Patna can now provide feedback on police behavior and service through a QR code system. The initiative was launched on Friday at Kotwali police station, demonstrated by Patna Central SP Chandraprakash, Patna Rural SP Roshan Kumar, Patna West SP Abhinav Dhiman, Patna East SP Bharat Soni, and Sadar ASP Sweety Sehrawat during a press conference.
Currently, the QR code system is available for Android mobile users, with plans to expand to feature phones and other technologies. Developed by the combined efforts of the four SPs and ASP Sadar, the system will be monitored directly from the SSP office.
Central SP Chandraprakash emphasized that this QR code system aims to bring transparency to police operations. QR codes will be displayed at various locations within the police stations, including the OD officer’s desk, the gate, the women’s desk, Sarista, and patrol vehicles.
The Central SP also mentioned that feedback from all Patna police stations will be reviewed monthly. SHOs will be held accountable based on the feedback. If a police station receives negative feedback in the first month, officers will be reprimanded and directed to improve. Repeated negative feedback will lead to an investigation and possible action.
In the next phase, the police plan to implement an online receipt system for victims filing FIRs. This will ensure that victims receive their receipts promptly, enhancing accountability and service quality.
