Patna: In a major boost to state’s industrial ambitions, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed and exchanged between the Bihar Industries Department and Mahashakti Group in the presence of Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary at the ‘Sankalp’ auditorium in the Lok Sevak Awas on Thursday. The agreement paves the way for the establishment of a proposed large integrated steel project worth ₹6,000 crore.
The project will be set up in Gaya Ji district and is expected to have a finished steel production capacity of 1.0 to 1.5 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The investment is expected to accelerate Bihar’s industrial growth and mark a significant step towards positioning the state among India’s leading industrial hubs.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said the Bihar Government is consistently working to create an industry-friendly environment across the state. He said investors are being provided with improved infrastructure, transparent policies and prompt administrative support, helping Bihar attract large-scale investments. He added that the steel plant would generate substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities while also encouraging the growth of ancillary and small-scale industries, thereby strengthening the regional economy.

Samrat Choudhary expressed confidence that the coordinated efforts of the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA), the Industries Department and the investing company would ensure the project progresses within the stipulated timeframe and usher in a new phase of industrial development in the state.
The event was attended by the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Deepak Kumar, Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, Secretaries to the Chief Minister Lokesh Kumar Singh and Sanjay Kumar Singh, Industries Department Secretary Kundan Kumar, Industries Department Director Mukul Kumar Gupta, other senior officials, and Mahashakti Group representatives Anmol Lodha, Vishnu Nath and other company executives.
