Patna: A three-day national kabaddi referees’ examination programme commenced on Sunday at Hotel Ashoka Residency, under the aegis of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India and hosted by the Bihar State Kabaddi Association.
The event was inaugurated with the traditional lighting of the lamp by Ajay Kumar, President of the Bihar Olympic Association; K Jagdishwar Yadav, Chairman of the Technical Committee of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India; Kamakhya Narayan; and Ratan Patel.
The guests were welcomed by Kumar Vijay Singh, Chairman of the Bihar State Kabaddi Association, who felicitated them with bouquets and shawls. Several dignitaries were present on the occasion, including Anand Shankar Tiwari, President of the Bihar Referee Board; Rana Ranjit Singh, Chairman of its Technical Committee; convenor Arun Kumar; and Jaishankar Chaudhary.

Speaking about the examination, Kumar Vijay Singh emphasised that referees play a crucial role in the successful conduct of any sport. He said that rules in sports are updated from time to time, making it essential for officials to stay informed. The examination, he added, is part of this process, where referees will be trained in the latest rules before being assessed.
