Patna: The Bihar Orthopaedic Association (BOA) is proud to announce a historic global achievement by one of its distinguished members, Dr. Ashok Kumar Sinha, who has been granted a prestigious patent by the Intellectual Property Office of the United Kingdom.
The patent, officially registered on May 1, 2026, recognizes Dr. Sinha’s pioneering work on the “Keshav Nail”—a threaded hole interlocking bone nail design. The formal certification was presented by Mr. Adam Williams, the Comptroller General of Patents in the UK.
President of the Association Dr Amulya Kumar Singh said that his theme is “Bridging the Gap: From Rural care to Robotic Excellence”. The mission of BOA is to to enhance surgical precision and improve patient outcomes in orthopaedic cases in the society not only in urban areas but also in Rural areas. There has to be better cohesion and harmony between the doctors and patient. This will develop faith and trust on the doctors.
Speaking on this milestone, Dr. Amulya Kumar Singh, President of the Bihar Orthopaedic Association, stated that This achievement is a momentous milestone that reflects a relentless dedication to surgical excellence. Dr. Sinha’s ability to provide pioneering solutions to complex clinical problems brings immense pride to the entire orthopaedic fraternity of Bihar. His vision serves as a profound inspiration to both seasoned consultants and the next generation of surgeons.

This UK patent places Bihar’s medical community on the international map of intellectual property and scientific innovation. The BOA remains committed to fostering an environment where academic and surgical breakthroughs can thrive together for the benefit of the society. All members of Bihar Orthopeadic Association have to come upto expectation of the society and in this era of modernization also, they have to remain attached to the roots and serve the society.
