Ryan Mohammad Maintains Lead at Bihar State Senior Chess Championship with Perfect Score

Lakhisarai, June 27: After the completion of the eighth round of the Bihar State Senior Chess Championship, organized by the Lakhisarai District Chess Association at Nagar Bhawan, Lakhisarai, under the aegis of the All Bihar Chess Association, Ryan Mohammad stands alone at the top with eight points.

Playing with the black pieces on board number one today, Ryan defeated Rahul of Patna, maintaining his lead in the competition with a perfect score. Meanwhile, on boards two and three, Maryam Fatima of Muzaffarpur defeated Piyush of Patna, and Tabashir Alam of Patna defeated Ashutosh of Patna. Both Maryam and Tabashir now share the second position with 6.5 points each.

Five players, each with six points, remain in contention for a place on the team. Despite losing to Ryan on the first board, Rahul of Patna is in a joint third position with six points. Additionally, on board four, Divyansh of Kishanganj, playing with the black pieces, defeated the top-seeded player, Sameer Kumar. On board six, Kishan of Begusarai defeated Shubham of Khagaria. On board seven, Vijay of Patna defeated Shashi Nanda of Patna, and on board eight, Himanshu Harsh defeated Devansh Keshari. All of these players are also in joint third position with six points each.
