Lakhisarai, June 25: Following the completion of the fourth round of the Bihar State Senior Chess Championship, organized by the Lakhisarai District Chess Association at Lakhisarai Nagar Bhawan under the aegis of the All Bihar Chess Association, Ryan Mohammad, Kishan Kumar, and Ashutosh Kumar have emerged as joint leaders, each with four points.
In today’s matches, top-seeded player Sameer Kumar of Jehanabad, playing with the white pieces on board number one, was defeated by Ashutosh Kumar of Patna. On board number two, Asian School Chess winner Ryan Mohammad, also playing with white pieces, triumphed over Himanshu Harsh of Patna. Meanwhile, on board number three, Kishan Kumar of Begusarai defeated Divyansh Kumar Singh of Kishanganj, also playing with white pieces, joining the leaders at the top.
Four players are currently tied for second place with 3.5 points each: Maryam Fatima from Muzaffarpur, and Rahul, Piyush, and Sudhir Kumar Sinha, all from Patna.
The second day’s game was inaugurated by City Deputy Chairman Shri Shiv Shankar Ram and Lakhisarai District Fisheries Officer Ranjit Kumar, who made the ceremonial first move.
