Patna: In a shocking daylight murder in Patna, criminals shot dead a property dealer, Sudarshan Verma, on the Bhusaula-Danapur road near AIIMS Golambar in Phulwarisharif. The crime took place when motorcycle-borne assailants, reportedly acting on a signal from a Scorpio driver, fired at Verma as he was leaving a property dealer’s office and approaching his car.

In an attempt to save his life, Verma tried to re-enter the office, but the criminals pursued him inside, shooting him three times in the head at close range and twice near his arm. The assailants then fled the scene on a motorcycle, leaving the area in a state of shock.

Upon receiving the news, police officers, including Additional SP Vikram Sihag and Phulwari Sharif SHO Mashood Haidri, arrived at the scene with their team. They summoned the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team to collect evidence and sent Verma’s body to AIIMS for a post-mortem.

According to the police, Verma, a resident of Datiyana Vikram, had come to the property dealer’s office near AIIMS to discuss a land deal. It was after leaving the office that the criminals targeted him. The police are investigating the motive behind the murder and have begun analysing CCTV footage to identify the culprits.

The incident has caused an uproar in Verma’s family, especially as his wife, Sangeeta Devi, is severely ill. Verma was also associated with the Bharatiya Rashtriya Party and served as its state president.
