Patna: The opposition continued to create a ruckus during the monsoon session of the Bihar Legislature. On the last day, opposition members protested fiercely both inside and outside the House, reaching the well of the Bihar Assembly with posters and causing disruption during the question hour. Bihar Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav warned the opposition members and threatened to take action against them.

Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav cautioned the opposition members, stating that any tampering with the table would result in strict action. He reminded them that a reporter was injured the previous day due to their actions. Yadav specifically challenged RJD’s Govindpur MLA Mohammad Kamran to lift the table, asserting that such actions would not be tolerated.

After Yadav’s threat, the opposition members returned to their seats quietly. Yadav also addressed former Assembly Speaker Awadh Bihari Chaudhary, stating that he would be given time to speak after the question hour. Meanwhile, the opposition alleged that their voices were being suppressed in the House.

“He is playing in the lap of anti-reservation people and giggling. The special package is an excuse. No one knows whether Nitish will stay on the ground or not,” said Bhai Virendra, RJD MLA.

“We are putting pressure on the Chief Minister inside the House on the question of special status. He has supported the Delhi government and the government is running with his support. Therefore, there is no package, the demand for special state status should be fulfilled,” he added.

The previous day, Congress Legislature Party leader Shakeel Ahmed Khan attempted to overturn the reporting table, leading to further chaos. Agitating opposition members also protested outside the Speaker’s chamber and staged a sit-in. They demanded apologies from Nitish Kumar and Lallan Singh for their statements.

On the final day of the monsoon session, Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav’s frustration reached its peak. He reiterated that strict action would be taken if anyone tampered with the table, emphasizing the injury caused to a reporter due to the opposition’s actions the previous day.
