Patna: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) has intensified its preparations for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. On Monday, the state presidents of the five constituent parties of the NDA held a joint press conference at the JD(U) office, where they announced a statewide campaign for joint worker meetings. The first phase of this campaign will commence in Bagaha on January 15 and continue until February 25.
As part of this campaign, the NDA aims to secure a target of 225 assembly seats. District-level meetings will be held, involving officials from the district, block, and panchayat-level committees of all five constituent parties: BJP, JD(U), LJP (R), HAM, and RLSP. These meetings will focus on motivating workers for the elections and emphasising unity. Efforts will also be made to establish coordination among the parties down to the booth level.
The first phase of joint worker meetings will begin in Bagaha and subsequently expand to other districts. The state presidents of the five parties will attend the meetings in each district to provide guidance to the workers. Additionally, a 30-minute film contrasting Bihar’s condition before 2005 and after 2005 will be screened in every village as part of the campaign.
Speaking on the initiative, JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha and BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal emphasised that these meetings are a crucial step towards strengthening the organisation and energising the workers. Programmes will be conducted from the booth to the panchayat level to discuss the policies and schemes of the NDA’s constituent parties. A framework will also be developed to communicate the government’s achievements effectively to the public.
