Patna: In a significant reshuffle, the Bihar government transferred five IAS officers, with the most surprising move being the transfer of Patna Commissioner Kumar Ravi. On Sunday, Kumar Ravi was seen accompanying Chief Minister Nitish Kumar at various locations, but by evening, he was transferred to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Mayank Warwade, a 2001 batch IAS officer and former Commissioner of Magadh Division, has been appointed as the new Commissioner of Patna.
As per the official notification, Mayank Warwade, who was also serving as the Additional Director General of BIPARD Gaya, will now take over as Patna’s Commissioner. In his place, Gaya DM Thyagrajan MS will assume the role of Additional Director General of BIPARD Gaya alongside his current responsibilities as Commissioner of Magadh Division until further notice.
Additionally, Pankaj Kumar Pal, Secretary of the Rural Development Department, has been assigned the additional responsibility of the Energy Department. He will now serve as the Secretary of the Energy Department and will also hold the position of Chairman cum Managing Director of Bihar State Power Holding Company Limited, a role previously held by IAS officer Sanjeev Hans, who was removed following corruption allegations.
Vandana Preyasi, who was previously the Secretary of the Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change, has been transferred to the Industries Department. She will also take on the additional role of Managing Director of the Infrastructure Development Authority.
Meanwhile, Kumar Ravi, previously the Secretary of the Building Construction Department, has been reassigned as Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. He will continue to hold additional responsibilities as Secretary of the Building Construction Department and Managing Director of Bihar State Building Construction Corporation until further orders. Furthermore, Sandeep Paundrik, the Additional Chief Secretary of the Industries Department, has been relieved of his duties and assigned to the Ministry of Steel as Secretary.
