Madhya Pradesh Dominate as Bihar Collapse in CK Nayudu Trophy Clash

Patna: In the CK Nayudu Trophy match at Holkar Stadium, Indore, Bihar were bowled out for 112 runs in their first innings, largely due to Madhya Pradesh’s Soumya Pandey, who claimed seven wickets. By the end of the third day’s play, Madhya Pradesh had amassed 332 runs for the loss of just two wickets, taking a commanding lead of 220 runs.

Bihar, resuming their innings at 68 for three, were unable to withstand the relentless bowling attack and were dismissed for 112. Animesh Kumar was the sole standout for Bihar, scoring 59 runs, while the rest of the batting order struggled. Himanshu Tiwari and Akash Verma were dismissed without scoring, Shashank managed 12 runs, Arnav Kishore 10, Veer Abhimanyu 11, and Pawan Rai 6. Soumya Pandey’s devastating spell saw him take 7 wickets, while Adhiraj Pratap added 3 to complete Bihar’s collapse.

In response, Madhya Pradesh dominated with the bat, reaching 332 for two by stumps on day three. Chanchal Rathore’s unbeaten 119 and Akshat Raghuvanshi’s 95 not out provided a solid foundation, with Md Arham contributing 59 and Vikas Sharma scoring 34.

Izhar and Manish took one wicket each for Bihar, but Madhya Pradesh now hold a commanding position going into the final day.
