Patna: Half-centuries by Prakhar Gyan (66) and Diwakar Kumar (66), coupled with an impressive four-wicket haul by Vicky Anand, powered KNCC to a convincing victory in the Adhkari Madan Mohan Prasad Memorial Patna District Senior Division Cricket League. KNCC defeated YCC by 77 runs. Vicky Anand (14 runs, 4 wickets) was adjudged Player of the Match.
The match, played at the Alpha Sports Academy Ground, saw KNCC win the toss and post a competitive 244 for five in the allotted 40 overs. In reply, YCC were restricted to 167 for nine in 32.1 overs, with one batter unable to take strike.
KNCC’s innings began on a shaky note as opener Anmol Kumar Bony was dismissed for five. Thereafter, Prakhar Gyan added 78 runs for the second wicket with fellow opener Simukh. Simukh scored 43 off 67 balls with five fours. Prakhar then stitched a vital partnership with Diwakar Kumar to consolidate the innings, with useful contributions from the middle order including Surya Prakash and Vicky Anand, taking the total to 244 for five.
Prakhar Gyan struck seven fours in his 66 off 74 balls, while Diwakar Kumar smashed three fours and six sixes in his 66 from 52 balls. Surya Prakash scored 24 off 29 balls with three fours and a six, and Vicky Anand added 14 off nine balls, including a four and a six.
For YCC, Prince Dubey was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets for 36 runs, while Prateek Sinha claimed one for 30.
YCC made a solid start in their chase as openers Dhananjay Kumar Singh and Priyanshu Kumar put on a century stand for the first wicket. Dhananjay narrowly missed his half-century, departing for 49, while Priyanshu went on to complete his fifty. However, the innings faltered thereafter, and YCC could manage only 167 for nine in 32.1 overs. Anurag Rana scored 15, Animesh Raj 17 and Vineet Kumar 15.
Vicky Anand starred with the ball for KNCC, returning figures of four for 27. Akshat Mishra took two wickets for 16 runs, while Shubham Singh and Aksh contributed one wicket each.
