ISKCON Patna Gears Up for Grand Jagannath Rath Yatra on July 7

Patna: The ISKCON temple in Patna is eagerly preparing for the upcoming Jagannath Rath Yatra scheduled for July 7, which is anticipated to draw devotees from both within the country and abroad. This annual event holds great significance, celebrating Lord Jagannath’s divine presence and attracting participants to witness its splendor.

Krishna Kripa Das, President of the Patna ISKCON temple, shared details about the preparations. A majestic 40-foot-high chariot, equipped with a hydraulic system for maneuverability, has been meticulously decorated with an array of colorful flowers. Das emphasized that Lord Jagannath’s Yatra Leela symbolizes unity, happiness, and spiritual fulfillment, reflecting the universal appeal of devotion and peace.

Nand Gopal Das highlighted logistical details for the event. Floral decorations will be sourced from Kolkata to adorn the chariot, enhancing its visual appeal. The Rath Yatra procession will commence from the ISKCON temple at 2:20 pm and traverse through notable landmarks including the Planetarium, Patna High Court, Bihar Museum, Patna Women’s College, Income Tax Golambar, Kotwali, and Dakbungla Square, before concluding back at ISKCON temple by 6 pm.

Since its inception in 2000, the Jagannath Rath Yatra organized by ISKCON Patna has been a cherished tradition, offering devotees an opportunity to participate in rituals such as offering flowers and aarti along the route. The event not only commemorates spiritual beliefs but also fosters communal harmony and spiritual unity among participants.
