Patna: The Bihar versus Kerala match in the Cooch Behar Trophy concluded in a draw at the KCA Cricket Ground, Mangalapuram, Trivandrum. Kerala secured a first-innings lead to gain the upper hand in the contest. By gaining the lead Kerala got three points while Bihar earned one point. Bihar posted 329 runs in their first innings and 390 runs for six wickets in 98.1 overs in their second innings, while Kerala scored 498 runs in their first innings.
Prithvi Raj was the standout performer for Bihar, scoring a brilliant 163 in the first innings. He narrowly missed his third century in the second innings, falling short by just two runs. Satyam Kumar also shone with an impressive 90-run knock. In the bowling department, Suman of Bihar claimed six wickets. Kerala’s captain, Imran Ahmed, led his side with an outstanding 178-run innings.
On the fourth and final day, Bihar resumed their second innings at 101 for two. When the team reached 390 for six, it became evident that the match would end in a stalemate. With mutual consent, the match was declared a draw.
For Bihar, Aditya Sinha scored 30 runs, Shashwat Giri was dismissed for a duck, Taufiq added 58 runs, Satyam Kumar contributed 90, and Prithvi Raj scored 98. Mohammad Alam (33 not out) and Aditya Raj (36 not out) remained unbeaten. Kerala’s bowling attack was led by Abhiram S (1/55), Thomas Mathew (1/89), Mohammad Anaan (1/66), Imran Ahmed (1/69), and Altaf S (1/18).
