Patna: Following the NEET-UG examination paper leak held on May 3 and reported irregularities in CBSE results and answer sheet evaluations, the Central Government cancelled the NEET-UG exam and constituted an inquiry committee into the CBSE matter. However, with key accused yet to be fully arrested and alleged inaction by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Bihar Congress organised large-scale protests across the state.
Led by state Congress president Rajesh Ram, party workers staged demonstrations and burned effigies of the Prime Minister. Addressing the gathering, Ram claimed that 89 examination papers had been leaked over the past 12 years, including four instances under the National Testing Agency (NTA) for NEET. He argued that such incidents raise serious concerns about the fairness of the central examination system.
Ram accused the BJP-led NDA government of creating a system favouring affluent families, leaving students from poorer backgrounds at a disadvantage. He stated that the education system had collapsed under the current regime and emphasised that the Congress would continue its protests to safeguard students’ futures. He also urged the government to ensure transparency in upcoming examinations, including the one scheduled for June 21, and to address the issue of paper leaks decisively.
Highlighting CBSE-related concerns, Ram alleged widespread irregularities in evaluation and result publication. He further claimed that students who exposed these issues were being pressured, while systemic flaws remained unaddressed.

Leader of the Congress Legislative Council, Dr Madan Mohan Jha, criticised the Centre, stating that the education system had deteriorated over the past 12 years. He added that the Education Minister had neither resigned on moral grounds nor expressed sympathy for the 2.2 million affected students.
During the protest march towards Rajapur Pul, demonstrators were stopped by police at Marine Drive crossing near Gosai Tola. Angered protesters staged a sit-in and raised slogans against the Prime Minister and Education Minister.
Congress workers also carried out a symbolic funeral procession as part of their protest. Several senior leaders, including Pappu Yadav, Kapildev Prasad Yadav, Kripanath Pathak, Rajesh Rathod, and others, along with hundreds of party workers, participated in the demonstration.
