Patna: The Kho-Kho Association of Bihar will hold open selection trials on November 17 to form the state team for the 43rd Junior National Kho-Kho Championship. Organised at New Delhi Public School in Raja Bazar, Suryagarha (Lakhisarai), the trials are in preparation for the national championship set to take place from November 25 to November 29 at Maharani Ahilyabai Stadium in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. The tournament is hosted by the Uttar Pradesh Kho-Kho Association under the aegis of the Kho-Kho Federation of India.
Neeraj Kumar Pappu, General Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, announced that players from all district units in Bihar, as well as individual players, are welcome to participate in the trials. Eligible participants must be registered with the Kho-Kho Federation of India, under 17 years of age as of 25 November 2024, and meet an index requirement of 240. Players should bring their original Aadhaar card and a photocopy, birth certificate and a photocopy, and two passport-sized photographs.
Abhishek Anand, Director of New Delhi Public School, has been appointed as the Organising Chairman to oversee the selection trials, and preparations are underway under his guidance. Anand has assured that all necessary arrangements, including transportation from Lakhisarai station to the venue and provisions for snacks and meals, have been arranged to ensure the players’ comfort.
Additionally, Amit Kumar Singh, Ground In-Charge and Secretary of the Lakhisarai District Kho-Kho Association, shared that a playing court is being set up especially for the trials. Several esteemed veterans will also be honoured at the event.
