Patna: A 26-member Bihar team showcased remarkable performances at the three-day Junior National Taekwondo Championship held in Cuttack (Odisha) from June 28 to June 30. The players from Bihar clinched 1 gold and 4 bronze medals in various categories.
Manjeet Singh Rathore from Patna won the gold medal in the Under-78 KG category, while Rishu Raj (Patna), Chandni Kumari (Lakhisarai), Soumya Sinha (Muzaffarpur), and Raj Tiwari (Motihari) secured bronze medals in their respective weight categories.
Sudhir Singh, General Secretary of the Taekwondo Association of Bihar, confirmed that all medal winners have qualified for the selection trials of the Junior World Championship scheduled from October 1 to October 6, 2024.
Congratulatory messages poured in from Taekwondo Association of Bihar President Sanjeev Singh, Vice President Jaiprakash Mehta, Joint Secretaries Nikhil Kumar and Aryan Pandey, as well as from Badal Kumar (Lakhisarai) and Satish Raju, President of Taekwondo Association of Patna and State Convenor of BJP Sports Cell, applauding the Bihar team and players for their outstanding achievements at the Junior National Championship.
