Patna: The newly appointed Chief Secretary of Bihar, Amrit Lal Meena, visited Raj Bhavan on Thursday to meet Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. Meena assumed his role as Chief Secretary on August 31 and has since met with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the Deputy Chief Minister, and today, the Governor.
According to a press release issued by Raj Bhavan, the meeting between Chief Secretary Amrit Lal Meena and the Governor was described as a courtesy visit. Meena succeeds Brajesh Mehrotra, who retired recently. Prior to this, Meena served as Secretary in the Ministry of Coal at the Central Government.
Amrit Lal Meena has held various significant positions within Bihar. Notably, during Jitan Ram Manjhi’s tenure as Chief Minister, Meena served as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. He has also managed key departments, including the Road Construction Department, Rural Development Department, and the General Administration Department.
Additionally, on Wednesday, September 4, the newly appointed Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar, Alok Raj, also met with Governor Arlekar. Raj assumed his post on August 30. Both top officials, the Chief Secretary and the DGP, have held courtesy meetings with the Chief Minister and the Governor following their appointments. It is believed they have received instructions during these meetings.
