Bihar NDA Announces Third Phase of Workers’ Conferences, Targets 225 Seats

By Neeraj Kumar

Patna: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar has announced the schedule for the third phase of its workers’ conferences, set to begin in Darbhanga on 6 February and conclude in Vaishali on 10 February. Meetings will be held in Madhubani on 7 February, Araria on 8 February, and Kishanganj on 9 February. The announcement was made during a joint press conference at Karpoori Auditorium, JD(U) office, on Sunday by the state presidents of the NDA’s constituent parties.

JD(U) state president Umesh Kushwaha informed the press that the first phase of the conferences had concluded successfully, while the second phase would commence on 27 January. He claimed that the opposition had been rattled by the NDA’s show of unity during the first phase and expressed confidence that the alliance would return to power in 2025 under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s leadership.

Kushwaha outlined the detailed schedule of the third phase and highlighted the importance of these conferences in consolidating support. “Our workers’ conference will also take place in Samastipur on 9 February, and the phase will conclude in Vaishali on 10 February,” he said.

BJP state president and Minister Dilip Jaiswal echoed similar sentiments, asserting that the opposition had been silenced by the NDA’s successful mobilisation efforts. “Earlier, the opposition, especially the RJD, was quick to issue statements, but Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s effective governance has left them speechless,” Jaiswal remarked.

Jaiswal also criticised the RJD and its leadership, particularly targeting Lalu Yadav, stating, “If there were an award for crime in the entire country, it would go to the Lalu family. The NDA is working to undo the damage caused by the lawlessness that prevailed until 2005.”

The BJP state president confidently declared that the NDA was aiming to win 225 seats in the upcoming elections. “All constituent parties are united in their efforts to ensure the opposition, particularly the RJD, is eradicated as it was in 2010,” Jaiswal said.

The third phase of the workers’ conferences reflects the NDA’s strategy to strengthen its grassroots presence and consolidate its voter base ahead of the 2025 elections.
