Bihar Lose to Punjab by 8 Wickets in Senior Women’s T20 Trophy

Patna: Bihar suffered defeat in their final league match of the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy organised by the BCCI, falling to Punjab by 8 wickets. Competing in Group E, Bihar finished the tournament with two wins and four losses, placing sixth in the points table, while Madhya Pradesh topped the group and Meghalaya ended at the bottom without securing any points.

The match was held at the Sports Hub International Cricket Stadium in Trivandrum, where Bihar captain Pragati Singh won the toss and opted to bat. Despite a solid start from the top order, the middle and lower order struggled, leading to a total of only 78 runs for 9 wickets in their 20 overs. Yashhita Singh was the standout performer with the bat, scoring 25 runs, followed by Apoorva Kumari with 22 and Preeti with 12. The rest of the batting line-up faltered, with Pragati Singh managing just 3 runs and Arya Seth, Tejaswi, and Komal P Kumari contributing minimal scores. Additionally, three players were run out.

For Punjab, Mannat Kashyap was effective with the ball, taking 1 wicket for 16 runs, while Neetu Singh claimed 3 wickets for 18 runs, and Kanika Ahuja secured 1 wicket for just 9 runs.

In their chase, Punjab reached the target comfortably, scoring 79 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in just 11 overs. Tanya Sapna Bhatia top-scored with 24 runs, while Ridhima Agarwal contributed 25 runs, and Kanika Ahuja finished unbeaten on 19 runs.

For Bihar, Tejaswi took 1 wicket for 15 runs, and captain Pragati Singh claimed 1 wicket for 17 runs.
