Patna: The Bihar Education Department has begun implementing the transfer manual following its issuance. Education Minister Sunil Kumar reiterated today that all teachers will receive their appointments by December. Addressing concerns raised by teacher unions about potential corruption in the transfer process, the minister assured that measures have been taken to prevent any under-the-table transactions.
“We are developing software to manage the process; there will be no manual intervention. The ten options provided by the teachers will be processed through the software. All competency-qualified teachers will receive appointment letters, become government employees, and will be in post by December,” he stated.
Education Minister Sunil Kumar pointed out that while 30% of the police force comprises women, they are not yet appointed at the district level. However, the Education Department has made significant strides for teachers, planning to appoint 1.87 lakh competency-qualified teachers in Bihar by December. Currently, only these individuals will benefit from the transfer and posting policy.
The minister also urged teachers to remain patient and prioritise quality education, highlighting that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s efforts have significantly reduced the dropout rate in schools, which has fallen from 12% in 2005 to just 1% today.
