Patna, June 24: Begusarai inched closer to victory in the BCA Senior Men’s Cricket Tournament Super League over Muzaffarpur at the local Moinul Haque Stadium on Monday. Begusarai posted a formidable total of 343 runs in their first innings, after which Muzaffarpur managed only 157 runs in response.
With a first-innings lead of 186 runs, Begusarai enforced the follow-on. Muzaffarpur, in their second innings, scored 116 runs for six wickets by the end of the second day’s play, still trailing by 70 runs.
In Muzaffarpur’s first innings, Chiranjeevi scored 17 runs, Ankit Singh 21, Shivam Kumar 52, and Atulya Priyankar 43. During the follow-on, Chiranjeevi scored 38 runs, Aditya Kumar 10, Kunal Kishore 28, and Vikash Ranjan 31. Atulya Priyankar remained unbeaten on 3 runs and Shuvam Kumar on 2 runs at stumps.
For Begusarai, Sabarjit Yadav took five wickets and Atul Prakash four wickets in Muzaffarpur’s first innings. In the second innings, Kishan Kumar and Sabarjit Yadav took two wickets each, while Aditya Jha and Atul Prakash claimed one wicket each.
