Gopalganj: All preparations are in place for the three-day Asmita Khelo India Women’s Kho-Kho League (Under-14 and Under-18), which will kick off on December 28 at Minj Stadium in Gopalganj. Hosted by the District Administration of Gopalganj, the event is organised under the joint aegis of the Bihar State Sports Authority and the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar.
Neeraj Kumar Pappu, Secretary of the Kho-Kho Association of Bihar, announced the Bihar teams for the league and expressed high hopes for their performance. A total of 15 teams from various states, including Bihar, Karnataka, Delhi, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Punjab, are set to compete.
To ensure smooth participation, excellent transport arrangements have been made to bring teams from Gopalganj and Siwan railway stations to their accommodation, where they are being warmly welcomed.
The construction of the match grounds has been completed, with three courts in total—two for matches and one for practice. The league is being held in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, the Sports Authority of India, and the Kho-Kho Federation of India.
District Sports Officer Abdul Rashid confirmed that the players are staying at the SS Girls Higher Secondary School, located near the match venue. Food arrangements have been made, and the players’ comfort is being prioritised. Additionally, players and technical officials from outside the region will get the chance to experience local Bihari cuisine.
