Administrative Reshuffle in Bihar; Chandrashekhar Singh Returns as DM of Patna

Patna, June 25: The Bihar government has announced the transfer of several IAS officers, including the district magistrate (DM) of Patna. Chandrashekhar Singh, former DM of Patna, has been reinstated as the district magistrate of Patna. The current Patna DM, Shirshat Kapil Ashok, has been transferred, according to a notification issued by the General Administration Department.

Chandrashekhar Singh will also assume the additional charge of Settlement Officer Patna until further notice. He previously served as the Special Secretary in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat and took charge of Patna after the Lok Sabha elections.

Himanshu Sharma, who was awaiting a posting after returning from central deputation, has been appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of Jeevika.

Shirshat Kapil Ashok, the outgoing Patna district magistrate, has been reassigned as the Chairman of Bihar State Road Development Corporation. He will also hold the additional charge of Special Secretary, Road Construction Department, until further orders.

Nilesh Ramchandra Dewar, another officer returning from central deputation, has been appointed as the Managing Director of North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL). He will also oversee Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA) in an additional capacity.

Aditya Prakash has been transferred and appointed as Additional Secretary, Health Department. Laxman Tiwari, who joined Bihar through cadre transfer from Chhattisgarh, has been appointed as Special Officer in the Revenue and Land Reforms Department.
