Patna: In a fresh anti-corruption crackdown in Bihar, an Executive Engineer of the Urban Development and Housing Department, Rajiv Kumar, has come under the scanner, with simultaneous raids being conducted at several locations linked to him. A team of the Special Vigilance Unit (SVU) is currently examining documents and gathering evidence related to his assets.
Rajiv Kumar has been accused of amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income. According to officials, a case (No. 15/2026) has been registered against him under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. He is alleged to have acquired illegal assets worth approximately ₹1.10 crore.
On Saturday, raids were carried out at three locations. The first is a flat (B-202) in Sumit Chandram Grih Apartment in Ramnagari, Patna. The second is his office located on the sixth floor of Pant Bhawan. The third location is a flat (No. 807) in Venus Landmark Gold Apartment on Khagaul Road in Danapur.
Sources said that when the SVU team reached the Danapur apartment, it was found to be locked, with a serving Army officer reportedly residing there as a tenant. Officials are now collecting details regarding the tenant, including the duration of occupancy.
The SVU continues to scrutinise documents linked to the Executive Engineer, and further revelations are awaited as the investigation progresses.
