Lucknow: A two-day ‘Viksit Bharat Budget Quiz – Youth Dialogue 2026’ was organised on 13 April at the Indira Gandhi Pratishthan in Lucknow by Mera Yuva Bharat under the Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
The inaugural session was formally opened by Mr Pawan Singh Chauhan, Member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council, who lit the ceremonial lamp. The programme commenced with a rendition of Vande Mataram. Regional Director Mr Anil Kumar Singh welcomed the chief guest with a memento, while Deputy Director Mahe Alam provided a detailed overview of the quiz initiative. State Director Mr Gopesh Pandey delivered the welcome address and outlined the objectives of the programme. A musical prayer presented by youth participants added to the opening proceedings. Professor Manjula Upadhyay and Mrs Mamta Shukla were also present.
In his address, Mr Chauhan emphasised that the youth form the foundation of the nation and urged them to draw inspiration from Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also stressed the need for mutual respect between men and women and encouraged young people to set clear goals and work diligently towards them.
Professor Manjula Upadhyay highlighted government initiatives on skill development, youth leadership and women’s empowerment, and responded to queries from participants. Mrs Mamta Shukla, interacting with the youth, encouraged them to define clear career goals and pursue them with determination, urging them to ask questions and remain inquisitive.
The closing session was attended by Mr Girish Chandra Yadav, Minister of State for Youth Welfare and Sports, Uttar Pradesh. He paid floral tribute to Swami Vivekananda, describing him as a source of inspiration for the youth.
Mr Anil Kumar Singh, Regional Director of Mera Yuva Bharat, welcomed the dignitaries, while Mr Gopesh Pandey provided an overview of the programme. Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports, Dr Mansukh Mandaviya, addressed the gathering virtually, stating that the core objective of MY Bharat is to empower youth to become aware, responsible citizens. He underlined that the nation’s future rests on its youth and called upon them to contribute towards building a developed India.
A special session also featured the reading of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Yuva Sandesh’.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr Anil Kumar Singh. Among those present were Deputy Director Vikas Singh, Jagriti Pandey, Akarsh Dixit, Mahe Alam, Anupam Kumar and Sonika Chandra, along with district youth officers and officials from various departments. More than 1,200 young participants from across Uttar Pradesh attended the programme.
The State Director, Mr Gopesh Pandey, delivered the final vote of thanks, and the event concluded with the National Anthem.
