Patna: In the Women’s Under-23 One-Day Trophy (Elite), Bihar suffered an eight-wicket defeat against Madhya Pradesh at the Jaipuria Vidyalaya Ground in Jaipur. Batting first, Bihar were bowled out for 118 in 46.5 overs, while Madhya Pradesh comfortably chased down the target in 23.1 overs, losing just two wickets to seal victory.
After winning the toss and opting to bat, Bihar got off to a brisk start. Captain Vaidehi Yadav scored 15 runs off 14 balls, while Akshara Gupta added 11 off 33 deliveries and Yashita Singh contributed nine runs from 12 balls. In the middle order, Arya played the most significant innings, scoring 46 runs off 81 balls with eight boundaries. Surya chipped in with 10 runs from 41 balls and Julie Kumari remained unbeaten on five from 11 deliveries. The Bihar innings eventually folded for 118 in 46.5 overs.
For Madhya Pradesh, Shuchi Upadhyay delivered an impressive spell, claiming four wickets for just 12 runs in her 10 overs. Muskan Biswas and Ayushi Shukla picked up two wickets each, while Dhani Buchade claimed one wicket.
Chasing a modest target of 119, Madhya Pradesh reached the total in 23.1 overs with eight wickets in hand. Tamanna Chaudhary remained unbeaten on 35 from 64 balls, while captain Ananya Dubey scored 29 off 38 deliveries. Anushka Sharma also played a key role with an unbeaten 33 off 24 balls, and Ayushi Shukla contributed 13 runs from 13 balls.
For Bihar, Arya and Vaidehi Yadav picked up one wicket each, but the Madhya Pradesh batters built useful partnerships to guide their side to a comfortable win.
Arya’s 46-run effort was the highlight for Bihar, while Shuchi Upadhyay’s impressive bowling and the steady knocks from Tamanna Chaudhary and Anushka Sharma played a crucial role in Madhya Pradesh’s victory.
